While 'Sons of Anarchy' fans were already revved up to learn that season 6 would premiere with a 90-minute installment on September 10, it seems the FX biker drama had one more major casting coup in store. Having served behind the scenes directing a number of episodes, 'RoboCop' himself, Peter Weller will antagonize the SAMCRO boys with a role on 'Sons of Anarchy' season 6!

The Hollywood Reporter first announced the news, though attendees of the 'Sons of Anarchy' season 6 Comic-Con 2013 panel glimpsed Weller's scenes in a sizzle reel of the coming episodes. More than that however, THR revealed that Weller will play a former cop who works at the Stockton port and has a run-in with SAMCRO in one of their dealings.

In addition to Weller, the sixth season of ‘Sons of Anarchy’ will feature the likes of C. Thomas Howell, ‘Shameless’ star Steve Howey, former ‘The Shield’ star CCH Pounder, ‘Deadwood’ star Kim Dickens, while both Drea de Matteo’s Wendy and Donal Logue’s villainous Lee Toric will return, and Jimmy Smits (Nero Padilla) was upgraded to series regular. Recently, series creator Kurt Sutter confirmed to reporters the next batch of episodes would likely open a few days ahead in the story, the weight of the season 5 finale’s events still fresh.
