Last week came word that Sony Pictures may have inadvertently tipped their hand to the official title of the upcoming Spider-Man reboot by registering a few telling web site URLs. Late last night that speculation was confirmed at a CinemaCon panel when star Tom Holland took the stage and announced that the film would officially be called Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In addition to the new title, you can get a look at the film’s logo above, which is pretty great. It ditches the dark and futuristic fonts of the Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man franchises and returns to a yellow and red color scheme and the classic upward arched layout. The subtitle is rendered in an almost handwritten font, almost like something a high school student would sketch in their notebook. The graffiti-style insignia is an added bonus (and, perhaps an indication that the eyes on Spidey’s costume could be getting bigger).

As you probably guessed by now, the Homecoming title is a nod to both Peter Parker’s high school life as well as Spider-Man himself returning to the Marvel Studios fold.

Yesterday, it was reported that The Vulture would be one of the film’s villains, but perhaps not the main villain. At the very least it would allow director Jon Watts to shoot a lot of swinging action as Spider-Man chases down a flying villain through the buildings of New York City.

In addition to Holland, Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and actress-singer Zendaya in an undisclosed role.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens in theaters on July 7, 2017.
