It’s always a good day when new Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys items are shown off for the very first time. The high-end figures and statues have been fan favorites no matter what license the two manufacturers have turned their eyes towards, but Star Wars has a particularly special place at both Sideshow and Hot Toys. At Star Wars Celebration Orlando, Sideshow’s booth was brimming with characters from that galaxy far, far away that could and should be the focus of any collection.

Rogue One is where both companies are currently focused, with Jyn Erso and her band of brothers earning new sixth-scale figures from Hot Toys. Baze Malbus and Jyn in her Imperial disguise made their public debuts last weekend, with both looking tremendous. Hot Toys’ attention to detail in sculpting and tailoring is virtually unrivaled, and you can see that in every last stitch and scratch in both figures. The Imperial Tank Commander also made his first appearance, and despite his more simplistic appearance, you can still see how carefully he’s been brought to life.

The classic films also got some attention this weekend, with Chewbacca and Darth Maul having their Premium Format Figures on display. Here you can really see how well Sideshow is able to bring mixed-media statues to life, with Maul in particular looking as if he might just flip right off his base and into your living room. The same could be said for Jango Fett and Boba Fett, both of which are presented in ways that show just how different their personalities are, while maintaining the family ties.
