Though Comic-Con 2014 offered nothing of J.J. Abrams' 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' the first installment of the brand-new trilogy continues filming to meet its December 2015 release date. From the deserts of Abu Dhabi to London's Pinewood Studios, production now sets up shop on Ireland's remote Skellig Michael Island to film scenes involving Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, and we have the first photos of the locale!

We've already seen the outlandish creatures inhabiting the desert set of 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' but now we're taken to a solitary, rocky island, where Abrams, Hamill and his wife, Marilou, and his children, Chelsea, Nathan and Griffin, were all spotted heading to Skellig Island, as scouts surveyed the location.

According to allegedly leaked plot details (still to be confirmed), Hamill's Skywalker is said to be missing in action in the beginning of the film, and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) band together with the new generation of characters to find him. Is Skellig Island where the Jedi has been hiding this whole time?

The Republic of Ireland confirmed 'Star Wars: Episode 7' production to take place at the location, stating, "This production is being fully supported by the Department of Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Irish Film Board," and, "The Office of Public Works will be providing onsite support through our staff who are present on the island throughout the summer, as normal."

'Star Wars: Episode 7' hits theaters on December 18, 2015, but you can check out the latest set photos below in the meantime, and click to see them in hi-res.
