Although Disney and Lucasfilm have been slowly delivering information about Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the film and some of the characters in it. Like Lupita Nyong’o’s Maz Kanata — we saw some leaked concept art that may or may not be an accurate representation of her CG character, but that’s about it. According to Nyong’o, that’s all we’ll get until the film hits theaters this December.

Official set photos have revealed Nyong’o covered in little dots, confirming that she’s playing an entirely CG character in The Force Awakens. But that’s pretty much all we know about Maz Kanata, a character that was reportedly code-named “Rose” on set. She’s clearly an alien of some kind, and some reports have claimed that she’s an authoritative smuggler who resides in a castle.

In an interview with Fandango at D23, Nyong’o said we won’t officially see her character until the film hits theaters:

Well, the easy part is you don’t get to see me until you see the film. All you get is dots on my face.

So don’t hold your breath in the hopes that you might see Maz Kanata in the next trailer for The Force Awakens, which will be released this fall. Honestly, it’s great that we still don’t know a lot about the film — it makes it far more exciting.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters on December 18.
