You might want to prepare your taste buds for the many grains of salt you'll be taking this with, as it seems 'Breaking Bad' decided to have a bit of fun in its final eight episodes, set to premiere this summer. No, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) won't suddenly regress into the wacky TV dad he was once known for, but his former 'Malcolm in the Middle' TV wife Jane Kaczmarek may just appear in an upcoming episode of 'Breaking Bad'! Find out if and when the two stars will reunite in 'Breaking Bad's' final episodes inside!
That look. That probing, skeptical, disapproving look the TSA agent gives you at the airport as they look over your driver's license and boarding pass. I have never had a single reason to be nervous in these exchanges -- I've never tried to smuggle so much as a bottle of cough syrup onto an airplane -- but they unsettle me every single time. And this is in the United States and I've done nothing wrong: imagine what it must feel like to walk through a security checkpoint in Iran, traveling under a forged passport under an assumed identity, in the midst of the worst hostage crisis in your nation's history. If you're caught, you're dead, your friends are dead, and maybe every other hostage in the country is dead too.
The incredible true story in Ben Affleck's 'Argo' took place in the late 1970s and early 1980s -- but it plays to relatable modern fears, like our (or, at least, my) irrational terror of airport security.
We may have to wait all the way until next summer for the conclusion of AMC's incredible 'Breaking Bad,' but you didn't really expect Emmy-winner Bryan Cranston to stay off the warming glow of TV that long, did you? This Thursday will see the wonderful Walter White making his '30 Rock' debut as "Ron," Kenneth Parcell's erstwhile stepfather alongside his mother (Catherine O'Hara), but why wait until then when we've got the first look right here?
Look out, Studio 6H. The one who knocks is on his way, and he's got a whole new kind of rock to push. '30 Rock' continues gearing up for its seventh and final season as speculation runs rampant how the long-running NBC comedy will close its doors, but at least one full measure is now in place. 'Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston and frequent Christopher Guest collaborator Catherine O'Hara will join '30 Rock' season 7 in an important role for Kenneth Parcell, but who might they be to the Stone Mountain page?
Walter White may be all about the work these days, but let's hope that 'Breaking Bad's better half Bryan Cranston leaves that grim attitude behind when he drops by Scranton, Pennsylvania to hang out in 'The Office.' Before shooting the final eight episodes of 'Breaking Bad,' Cranston will first take up directing duties for 'The Office' season 9, but what episode will he cover? Is Dunder-Mifflin getting into the meth trade?
Len Wiseman is good at what he does -- and what he does is make mindless action films. Unfortunately, that makes him a poor choice to direct a remake of 'Total Recall,' since what makes the material so great is the fact that it's anything but mindless.
Wisemen is totally uninterested in the very thing that makes 'Total Recall' interesting -- namely its poker-faced presentation of a story with two totally viable interpretations. Is what we're watching really happening? Or is it all a dream? In investigating the nature of reality amidst a barrage of chases and fight scenes, the first 'Total Recall' was a unique pleasure: an action movie with brains and brawn. Wiseman strips away the subtext and ambiguity, puts his head down, and barrels along from one scene to the next.
After 'The Amazing Spider-Man' unleashed about 25 minutes of footage online before release, it seems that Sony - the studio behind it and the upcoming 'Total Recall' remake - have decided that it's better to put out less of their movies. We've now had two clips from 'Total Recall' and the sum total of clippage is about eighty seconds.
'Breaking Bad' is weary of the minefield that is spoilers. So much so that the just-released peak at their new season offers little but footage of its stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul saying that they're currently shooting, but don't want to give anything away. Still, they made a video to get you pumped for the penultimate season.
