A new film from filmmaking brothers Joel and Ethan Coen is always highly-anticipated, but it turns out we're just going to have to wait a little longer for their latest effort. The star-studded 'Hail, Caesar!' which reunites the directors with George Clooney and Tilda Swinton, has been officially given a 2016 release date, and we have a feeling this one will be well-worth the wait.
Joel and Ethan Coen's upcoming movie 'Hail, Caesar!' has not only landed a distribution deal with Universal, it's also netted Coen vets George Clooney and Josh Brolin to star in a tale of Hollywood and the tabloids of the '50s.
There are no filmmakers more consistent in churning out masterpieces on a regular basis than Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, whose filmography is almost entirely made up of great films, underrated gems and, um, 'The Ladykillers.' Every new Coen Bros. film is an event and 'Inside Llewyn Davis' is no different -- it may not have the major star power of 'True Grit' or 'No Country For Old Men,' but there is no 2013 film that has us more excited.
It's arguable that the Coen Brothers are the greatest working directors of our day. Sure, there's Steven Spielberg and Quentin Tarantino (among others), but Joel and Ethan Coen have delivered some of the best films of all time, and some of the greatest films of the last ten years. Their latest, 'Inside Llewyn Davis,' opens in December and it's likely that it will be another Oscar favorite.
In what should come as a surprise to no one, the latest film from the Coen brothers took home a big prize at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. In what may be a little more surprising, a French coming-of-age film about two lesbians took home the grand prize.
