If you've seen 'Prometheus' then you're familiar with the "engineers" (and if you haven't seen 'Prometheus' we can't help you - we've seen the film and still have no idea who these guys are...). And if you've ever seen the 'SpongeBob SquarePants' episode "The Two Faces of Squidward" then you're familiar with Handsome Squidward. And these two together?...
See that guy up above? He's what they call an Engineer in the new Ridley Scott movie 'Prometheus' and if you haven't seen it, then this news post will contain some spoilers. If you have seen it, it will shed some light on a key scene within the film.
For those of us who follow the box office, this weekend was a case of deja vu. Once again, 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted' headlined the top ten and once again, 'Prometheus' snatched the number two spot. Both films managed to keep their momentum despite the opening of two new releases starring two of the biggest movie stars in the world. That's good news if you're 'Madagascar 3' or 'Prometheus,' but pretty bad news if you're Tom Cruise or Adam Sandler.
The photo above is taken from the prologue of 'Prometheus,' in which one of the extraterrestrial Engineers sacrifices himself in order to allow his DNA to plant the seeds of life on Earth. But we bet you didn't know that someone is standing right behind him -- someone not seen in the finished film.

Now that her publicity duties have slowed down for both ‘Prometheus’ and ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ Oscar nominee Charlize Theron’s free to start prepping for George Miller’s anticipated ‘Mad Max’ sequel, ‘Fury Road.’ First step? Get rid of all that pesky hair on top of her head.
Were you left feeling a little confused by 'Prometheus?' You weren't alone! While some of the answers to your questions may have to wait until 'Prometheus 2,' there is a chance you'll get some more detail this fall when 'Prometheus' comes to DVD and Blu-ray, complete with a new Director's Cut that will feature an additional 20 minutes of footage.
A number of guides out there are attempting to help moviegoers answer the big questions about Prometheus, and we continue to get “viral” supplements (videos, websites, etc.) to officially offer clues. But there’s really only one thing that we're left wondering about after two viewings of the movie: where will the inevitable sequel take us?
Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ didn’t dominate the weekend box office (losing the top slot to the animated ‘Madagascar 3’), but it certainly earned more than enough to justify a sequel that extends the intricate story started in this supposed ‘Alien’ prequel. The film raised a number of questions, several of which remain unanswered. But could we be getting some answers after a hint in the film's closing credits revealed a new viral site?
It's difficult to imagine two more different films going head-to-head at the box office. However, by appealing to completely different audiences, 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted' and 'Prometheus' both managed to emerge from the weekend as big winners, making this the first weekend in months where two new major releases opened strong.
Here's the thing: if you have a dozen engaged and insightful friends who are willing to share a beer after seeing 'Prometheus,' you can talk yourself into thinking it's a fabulous movie. That's assuming you and your friends are positive people. If it's the other way, you'll be shouting “Fie! Scott and Lindelof, you've wasted our time!”
'Prometheus' is a nothing if not aggravating. It comes within spitting distance of greatness, yet is still something of a disappointment. There was not one moment where I wasn't dazzled, yet I feel like I'm still anticipating the good stuff that's about to come – even though I left the theater hours ago.
