Howard Stark returns on tonight’s ‘Agent Carter,’ introducing the concept of the titular “Blitzkrieg Button,” although it proves to be little more than a distraction piled on top of a distraction for Peggy, who’s already working so diligently to lead what is essentially a triple-life. While the men at the SSR talk about what it means to be an agent, which is the most important part of who they are, it’s only Peggy who truly knows both the cost and the value of dedicating your life to the job.

Marvel’s ‘Agent Carter’ will return from a brief hiatus tonight to push “The Blitzkrieg Button” on Howard Stark, but theirs aren’t the only major returns in line for the ‘Captain America’ spinoff. Next week’s “The Iron Ceiling” will see Dum Dum Dugan and the rest of the Howling Commandos return, as seen in the hour’s full photo set!

If you think the Marvel Cinematic Universe is dominating your life now, just wait until 2016 when Steve Rogers and Tony Stark go head-to-head in ‘Captain America: Civil War.’ It’s a movie so big that it actually scared ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ away from its original release date. So when you read the latest comments on the film by screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (who also wrote the first two ‘Captain America’ films), just try to imagine the amount of pressure on their shoulders. Lesser screenwriters would be crushed.

‘Agent Carter’ returns tonight with its third installment, “Time and Tide,” which finds Peggy perpetually just one step ahead of her male colleagues at the SSR as she and Jarvis continue to follow the lead left behind by the (now deceased) Leet Brannis. We may be three episodes in already, but ‘Agent Carter’ and Peggy herself are definitely not short on the action. “Time and Tide” eases up on the heavier elements of misogyny, finding a more relaxed rhythm for Peggy and Co.

The demands of filming a television series -- especially a highly anticipated one like Marvel's own 'Agent Carter' -- often lead to some strange side effects that bleed over into real life. For star Hayley Atwell (the eponymous Agent Peggy Carter herself), that apparently included having to run errands while done up in full post-World War II regalia.

Who is Agent Carter? More specifically, who is Agent Carter removed from Steve Rogers and Captain America? Marvel attempts to answer that question with the two-hour premiere of ‘Agent Carter,’ a miniseries that takes us back to 1946, and arguably delivers Marvel Studios’ first solo female superhero project. And they’ve really delivered.
