Following the debut of new photos from the upcoming sci-fi film, the first 'Edge of Tomorrow' trailer has hit the web, featuring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt in what can be described as a sci-fi, alien-invasion version of 'Groundhog Day.'
All You Need is Kill
Just days prior to the Comic-Con 2013 festivities, Tom Cruise's upcoming sci-fier, 'Edge of Tomorrow' (formerly titled 'All You Need Is Kill'), announced a panel presentation during the Warner Bros. time slot in Hall H on Saturday, July 20.
There's no getting around it, 'All You Need is Kill' was an unwieldy title, and even with Tom Cruise starring in the film, the name could be seen as a turn-off. So it's no surprise that Warner Bros. -- who plans to launch the movie at Comic-Con 2013 -- have changed the title to 'Edge of Tomorrow' and have done so with a brand-new poster.
We haven't seen a trailer yet for Noam Murro's '300' prequel '300: Rise of an Empire' and now there's a very good reason why not. Today, Warner Brothers bumped the film into 2014, which caused Tom Cruise's 'All You Need is Kill' to move its release date as well.
Last we heard about 'All You Need Is Kill' -- otherwise known as Tom Cruise's attempt to prove he's "down" with the 'Avengers' and 'Dark Knight' sci-fi actioner crowd -- Bill Paxton was said to be in talks to board the Doug Liman film, which already featured Emily Blunt. Now the latest news comes in the form of a first look photo of Tom Cruise looking like one of the soldiers from the 'Halo' games.
This is casting news we can get behind. Doug Liman is loading up his latest picture, 'All You Need is Kill' with actors, and he's already got Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt signed up. But now it looks like Bill Paxton could be joining the cast, and that's enough to warrant buying a ticket.
Emily Blunt, who'll be seen alongside Jason Segel later this month in 'The Five-Year Engagement', is apparently in talks with Warner Bros. Pictures to sign up for a role opposite Tom Cruise in the big-screen adaptation of the novel 'All You Need is Kill.'
