Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger is an iconic movie star, former bodybuilder and the 38th Governor of California. He quickly became an action movie mainstay beginning in the '80s with roles in the original 'Conan the Barbarian' and 'Terminator' movies and 'Predator,' and continued on with 'Total Recall,' 'True Lies' and even some comedy roles in 'Twins' and 'Jingle All the Way.' After vacating his seat as Governor of California in 2011, Arnold Schwarzenegger picked his career right back up with 'The Expendables 2,' 'The Last Stand' and 'Escape Plan.' He returns once again as Trench for 'The Expendables 3,' and will reprise his 'Conan' and 'Terminator' roles for new film installments.

‘Terminator 2’, James Cameron’s sequel to his cult hit from 1984, had a budget of $94 million. That may not sound like much these days when Michael Bay movies routinely cost over $200 million, but in 1991, when ‘Terminator 2’ first opened in theaters, it was the most expensive movie ever made (this was even more impressive considering that the original ‘Terminator’ cost only $6 million to make). A good chunk of that money went to star Arnold Schwarzenegger who was paid a then-record $15 million, plus they bought him a private jet! Want to know more? Josh Gad Gives Update on 'Twins' Sequel 'Triplets'
Delayed sequels have become a fun trend, like the long-gestating ‘Bill and Ted’ sequel, or the recently released ‘Dumb and Dumber To.’ A couple of years ago we learned about a rather curious sequel: ‘Triplets,’ the follow-up to the 1988 comedy ‘Twins,’ which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as unlikely twin brothers. It’s been a while since we’ve heard any news about the project, but writer Josh Gad has delivered a somewhat promising update.

Trying to Make Sense of the 'Terminator Genisys' Trailer
If you're anything like us here at ScreenCrush HQ, you were left a little confused (among other things) by the 'Terminator Genisys' trailer. Specifically, how it fit into 'Terminator' and 'T2' and their existing timelines (we're assuming that 'Rise of the Machines' and 'Terminator: Salvation' have been completely written off). Is this a reboot? A sidequel? A bootquel? Because it started to break out brains a little bit, Managing Editor Matt Singer and I say down to try and parse the plot of this film (with the help of some GIFs and screencaps) to see if we could get to the bottom of things.

Even as a nearly lifelong ‘Terminator’ and Arnold Schwarzenegger fan, it is tough to figure out what to expect from ‘Terminator Genisys.’ Those ultra-agro cast photos looked like a cosplay party gone wrong, the title looks like an autocorrect disaster, and the plot synopsis as we understand it right now (with Sarah Connor, played by Emilia Clarke, raised from childhood by a Terminator, played by Schwarzenegger, she calls “Pops”) sounds ... weird. Like, really weird.

“I’ll be back,” is no longer just Arnold Schwarzenegger’s most famous movie quote and catchphase. It’s now his main business model. While doing a Q&A in England last weekend, Schwarzenegger announced there was another potential sequel in his future: ‘The Running Man,’ his 1987 sci-fi thriller based on a novel by Stephen King about a dark future where criminals compete for their lives on reality television (that dark future, apparently, was the year 2014).

Do you see that look of disapproval on Arnold Schwarzenegger's face in the image above this sentence? That's how we feel about the latest batch of images from 'Terminator: Genisys,' a film that couldn't have have built up more bad press in the past 24 hours unless it was actively out to sabotage itself. Just scroll down and prepare to go, "Yikes."

'Terminator 5' First Look, Plus Major Changes to the History
For a film that's set to come out next summer, we've heard precious little about 'Terminator: Genisys.' The latest attempt to resurrect a franchise that was, at one time, one of the coolest film series in the world, the fifth 'Terminator' film surrounds original star Arnold Schwarzenegger with a bunch of people you really like, puts a nerd-friendly guy in the director's chair and crosses its fingers an hopes for the best. Now, we have our first look at the new cast members and the vague outline of a plot, which sounds pretty crazy.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is 67 years old, which makes the idea of him playing an ageless, robotic killing machine in the upcoming 'Terminator: Genisys' seem oh-so-very silly [Ed. note: as silly as that title?]. However, it turns out that there's some fairly level-headed science fiction going on the explains Arnie's senior citizen appearance in the new film and it came courtesy of the franchise's original creator, James Cameron.

What the heck is 'Terminator: Genisys,' other than a title that seems just plain incorrect no matter how you look at it? We know it's the fifth film in the once-great 'Terminator' franchise and that it features Arnold Schwarzenegger returning to the character who defined him as a movie star. We also know that Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor (farewell, Linda Hamilton). Now, thanks to Jai Courtney, aka the new Kyle Reese (farewell, Michael Biehn and Anton Yelchin), we know a little more.
