Infrequently though they appear on our TV screens, Sherlock and Watson have been showing their faces of late for the upcoming special episode, which takes Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman all the way back to their Victorian London roots. We're on hand at Comic-Con 2015 to see the crime-solving duo back in action, way back, what do producers have to say of Series 4 and beyond?

Doctor Strange already boasts an impressive cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor, but Marvel isn’t ready to stop there. In addition to those three Oscar-nominees (with Swinton winning for her role in Michael Clayton), they have also reportedly offered Rachel McAdams a role in the upcoming superhero film.
It’s going to be a while before we see the first teaser for Marvel’s Doctor Strange, which doesn’t hit theaters until next November. It’s likely we’ll get one later this year or early next, with a full trailer attached to Captain America: Civil War, but until then, you can enjoy this fan-made teaser, which actually seems like a fairly accurate representation of what the legitimate teaser might be.
Several months after we first learned he was being eyed for a role in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, we finally know who Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor will play in the upcoming superhero adventure. And yes, everyone guessed right: the 12 Years a Slave star will take on the role of Baron Mordo, Stephen Strange’s arch-nemesis and fellow student of the mystic arts.
For all those who’ve said that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a far too male dominated landscape...well, you’re right. But, it looks like Marvel is at least trying to work on that and has made one big, exciting step forward in the right direction. Oscar-winning actor Tilda Swinton is in talks to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange as The Ancient One, a role originally written for a male.
Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight said he wanted to try and work more Marvel easter eggs into the first season of the Netflix series, but a lot of future characters (like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage) hadn't been cast yet. But, what if for one of the upcoming Marvel shows on Netflix, they were able to introduce a future character that had been cast? That's the basis for a pretty interesting, yet unconfirmed rumor, that states Benedict Cumberbatch will appear as Doctor Strange in the upcoming Iron Fist series.
Benedict Cumberbatch is a man of his word. If he says he’s going to appear on your late night show, he’s going to appear on your late night talk show, for goodness sakes! Even if he just got married! Like, the day before! Across the world! He’ll still be there!
You may or may not have noticed, but there’s an invasion afoot in Hollywood, and many of this past year’s most talked-about stars during awards season have been—gasp!—British. To celebrate the amazing performances delivered by these fine actors, Vanity Fair has delivered a three-part vintage-style short film, in which Keira Knightley, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch and basically every other beloved Brit actor invade Hollywood to recreate some of our most classic moments in film.
Benedict Cumberbatch! He has a funny name! And, to his immense credit, the Oscar nominee appears to have a pretty good sense of humor about said funny name.
