Broad City

A hundred years from now when scholars want an accurate snapshot of pop culture in the mid-2010s they can look through Kanye’s Twitter, read about #OscarsSoWhite or watch ‘Broad City.’ The latter is probably the most enjoyable choice, and one that best sums up the zeitgeist and millennials through its brazen approach at bizarre humor.

Too much time passes in between Broad City seasons, themselves already criminally short at ten half-hours apiece. Thankfully, Season 3 will catch us up completely with Abbi and Ilana over the last year, as the first clip spends some quality seasonal time with either in the bathroom.

The girls of Broad City will stick around through at least 2018, thanks to Comedy Central’s early renewals, but that hasn’t made the wait for Season 3 any less tourturous. Now, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer are back for the first real Season 3 trailer, cruising Grindr, giving “Yas Queen” to Cynthia Nixon, and slowly but surely becoming one another.

We’re still a month out from the hotly-anticipated return of Broad City Season 3, but the new 2016 run is at least starting to take some shape. To that end, a punchy first teaser for Abbi and Ilana has emerged, along with additional guest stars, and a sense of what Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton will get up to with her fellow Queens.

Break out your finest “YAS QUEEN,” the ladies of Comedy Central aren’t going anywhere just yet. Not only do Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer have a two-season Broad City renewal to celebrate, but so too will Amy Schumer stay Inside for a fifth season to come in 2016.

Broad City Queens Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer will hold court until Season 3’s February premiere, but might just abdicate (or obliterate) the throne thereafter. A new tweet has Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton herself hanging with the girls on set, not to mention executive producer Amy Poehler. Bow down, Bingo Bronson.

The ladies of Broad City kept us in fix with their “Hack Into” web shorts, but the real deal will return soon enough. Comedy Central has officially set a February Season 3 premiere for Abbi and Ilana, while the boys of Workaholics, and many more have their 2016 debut dates as well.

In the immortal words of Ilana Glazer’s fictional self on Broad City: YAS QUEEN YAS QUEEN! There is truly no other acceptable reaction to this piece of news. Glazer and Broad City co-creator/writer/star Abbi Jacobson are joining forces with Paul Feig for a new comedy film, which is already guaranteed to be the best comedy film in whatever year it’s released.
