Comedy Central took a bit of a breather after Jon Stewart’s final Daily Show to let Stephen Colbert soak up some spotlight at CBS, but with Trevor Noah’s September 28 premiere fast arriving, it’s time to put asses in the chairs. Groove to some Kanye and lower your seat for our first look at The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.

Now that President Obama has come and gone, Jon Stewart’s final round of Daily Show outings will bring out a few more big guns to help send him off. Among the sure to be extensive list, we already have top comedians (and near successors) Amy Schumer, Louis C.K. and even Denis Leary booking slots on Jon Stewart’s final run.

For as much denial as we’re under regarding Jon Stewart’s final Daily Show week, one has to wonder how Trevor Noah will fill the seat with his September premiere. Thankfully, not everything about The Daily Show will change with Stewart, as the old guard of executive producers will remain through Noah’s tenure.

As we inch closer and closer to Jon Stewart’s abdication of The Daily Show, Stewart has become increasingly esoteric and playful with the format. That approach only grew with two new segments this week, the first allowing Jon to take audience questions of his tenure, and the second purely grunting reactions to Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee’s recent Holocaust comments.

Like SNL, too much hilarity has cycled through the news in the last few months alone, not to have South Park back in our lives. Thankfully, that long national nightmare is over, as in addition to the recent renewals, South Park has officially set a September return date to Comedy Central.

Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have been rising through the comedy ranks since long before Key & Peele, though there’s no denying how visibly the Comedy Central sketch series boosted their profile. Still, all birds must eventually leave the nest, and so we’ve learned that the fifth and current Key & Peele season will be their last.

Jon Stewart’s final Daily Show inches closer and closer, and the revered host isn’t going to go quietly. President Barack Obama himself will make a seventh appearance guesting on the program, his “final interview” before Jon Stewart signs off the Comedy Central airwaves.

As Jon Stewart winds down his tenure on The Daily Show, more and more names have emerged from Comedy Central shortlists ahead of Trevor Noah. Red-hot comedienne and perfect human Amy Schumer seems also to have been offered the gig, though the Trainwreck star declined a “safe” option for her blossoming career.

However infrequently South Park arrives each year, many begin to wonder how much longer the talents of Trey Parker and Matt Stone will keep the series in play at Comedy Central. We’ve certainly been through some reassurance before, but will the 20th season in 2016 mark the official end? Says Parker, “They have to f—ing cancel us, goddammit!”

We don’t yet have a clear sense of what The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will look like, and while we’ve heard a few big names suggested prior, our future Daily Show almost looked very different. Not only did the inimitable Amy Poehler (briefly) consider an offer to host, but so too did Chris Rock apparently mull over taking the chair for a time.
