It was a bit of a bummer when we heard that Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy trilogy was not to be concluded after all, and even weirder when Hellboy creator Mike Mignola dropped the news that the series would be rebooted, and stranger still when none other than David Harbour was chosen to portray the character. It stands to reason that del Toro and Ron Perlman are pretty bummed, but Perlman recently told fans that he’s fine with the reboot, and happy for Harbour.

The fate of Hellboy has long been trapped in development hell, boy. Franchise director Guillermo Del Toro and star Ron Perlman were both interested in another installment, but legal complications made that tricky, then there was scheduling stuff, then the studio was being uncooperative, you name it. Del Toro said it was definitely gonna happen, then that it wouldn’t happen, then that it might happen, then that it probably wouldn’t but hey you never know, then that yes, there absolutely 100% will not be a Hellboy 3. And he’s holding true to those final words, because there won’t be a third chapter of his Hellboy franchise — as the new one’s gonna be a [deep breath] reboot.

Alright, a gold friggin’ star to the person who thought of this one. With the new season of Mystery Science Theater 3000 hitting Netflix today, most of the conversation has been dominated by lifelong fans of the show  —  fans like myself  —  who are some combination of excited and apprehensive about the return of their favorite television series. But what about the next generation of MST3K fans? How does Netflix introduce them to their service? Why, by riffing on another Netflix property that everyone already knows and loves, of course!

While there’s no official release date yet (although it’s rumored to hit in 2018), Deadpool 2 is gearing up to start filming pretty soon. We don’t know much about the plot or any new characters other than the fact that Cable is going to be in it, which is something we’ve known since the first Deadpool movie teased it after the credits. But as to who’s playing Cable, it’s anyone’s guess at this point as the movie is only just starting to round out their cast. A few days ago, Deadpool’s creator Rob Liefeld wanted Russell Crowe to play the part, which was probably just a bit of industry fancasting. But now we know that one of the names on the list of possibilities is none other than Stranger Things’ David Harbour.

Sunday’s Stranger Things Season 2 Trailer premiere gave us quite a bit to chew on, but the Halloween premiere is going to the next year pretty torturous. Thankfully, even more new photos have emerged, as well as plot details for the ambitious new year, and even a hint at what new creatures we might be seeing.

At long last, our national nightmare finally came to an end with news that Stranger Things would return for Season 2 (or rather, Stranger Things 2). Long before a 2017 premiere, however, producers tease a James Cameron upgrade in the vein of Terminator 2 and Aliens, as well new characters for the 1984 return.
