If you happen by a Twitter account, or at least a chatty co-worker sometime in the last few weeks, chances are you’ve heard the sound and the fury surrounding Netflix true crime documentary series Making a Murderer. Details and different players of the Avery-Dassey cases have been dissected all throughout the media in recent weeks, and now Investigation Discovery will get in on the action with a follow-up documentary special of its own.

Saddened though we were to learn that Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman would close up the Mythbusters shop after 14 seasons, we have every reason to believe the science and engineering duo will close out their Discovery tenure with bang. Yes, in more ways than one. In the meantime, Savage has begun sharing photos from the last day of shooting, and it looks as explosive as it does … well, something!

For over a decade, the folks at Discovery’s Mythbusters have delighted and intrigued fans and scientists alike, putting pop culture to the test with actual engineering, even amid a few format changes. Sadly, the team of Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will come to a close, as Discovery confirms Season 14 of Mythbusters will be the last in 2016.

Over the years we've seen the 'Mythbusters' crew making a number of headlines for their many themed episodes and stunts, but the latest news may prove troubling for fans of the longtime Discovery Channel series. Not only are fan-favorite M7 Build Team members Kari Byron, Tory Belleci, and Grant Imahara not returning for the next season in 2015, but the show will undergo a reboot of sorts to take 'Mythbusters' in a "new direction."

We're guessing the folks at 'Mythbusters' watch a lot of AMC, but then again, who doesn't? After previously hosting an episode to feature various myths based on 'Breaking Bad,' 'Mythbusters' is preparing to bust some zombies by testing various aspects of zombie pop culture, 'The Walking Dead' style! In addition to a number of television episodes from the likes of 'Haven' and 'Family Guy,' we weren't surprised to see that Discovery opted not to renew its firearm family series 'American Guns,' given the aftermath and national discourse raging from the terrible Sandy Hook Elementary massacre. Now, it seems another of Discovery's 2nd amendment series - Ted Nugent's 'Gun Country' - has been pulled from the network, but is it a reaction to last week's tragedy?
