Ever since Syfy first announced that it would follow up 2010 angel thriller 'Legion' with a sequel TV series 'Dominion,' we've been anxious to check out the post-apocalyptic heaven-scape. Last week's trailer gave us our clearest look yet at the ongoing angel-human conflict, but the full poster for Syfy's Dominion' might be the most iconic imagery yet.
Amid all the many network upfront presentations of the week, today saw NBC and Universal holding their cable expo to promote the likes of Syfy and USA. Among the new series glimpsed, 'Legion' TV sequel drama 'Dominion' finally got its first full angelic trailer, while the network also offered a glimpse at 'Battlestar Galactica' vet Tricia Helfer's creepy new retro sci-fi drama 'Ascension.'
Syfy has been on a kick of late with cannibalizing cult sci-fi films for TV options, the latest of which, 'Dominion,' derives from 2010 angel thriller 'Legion.' We saw a few short promos of the new sequel series drama before, but now the war has officially erupted anew in the full 'Dominion' trailer and photo set, chock full of angels, bullets and good old-fashioned scripture (not really).
Syfy's forthcoming 'Legion'-based TV series, 'Dominion,' has only conjured up brief footage and a photo to date, but with all of the movie's angels declaring war on man, how long could we wait until Syfy premiered a proper trailer? Take a look at the epic war between man and the forces above in our best look yet at 'Dominion'!
A few weeks ago we caught our first look at Syfy's forthcoming 'Legion' TV series 'Dominion' with a promotional trailer and release date, though the promo spot had relatively little to show in the way of characters. That all changes with the first promotional still from the series, featuring leading man Christopher Egan, 'LOST''s Alan Dale, and 'Buffy''s Anthony Stewart Head!
We've known for some time that Syfy would look to adapt the stylistic apocalypse thriller 'Legion' with a sequel TV series 'Dominion,' though we weren't sure if the small screen could capture the same stylistic flair. Now, the first footage of Syfy's new summer 2014 series has arrived, and it seems heaven has brought hell with it!
Well, we could have seen that coming. A few scant weeks after Syfy's '12 Monkeys' TV pilot had begun casting, so too has the cable network's other high-profile sci-fi adaptation series 'Dominion' been greenlit for a full series. The new incarnation draws from the events of Paul Bettany angel thriller 'Legion,' but what will the TV series chronicle?
We’ve all heard the casual moans of fan communities that Hollywood never comes up with anything original anymore, settling into the familiar patterns of sequels, remakes, and adaptations of familiar properties to cash in on brand recognition. And while remakes have become subtly accepted as a chance for a new take on dormant properties, the recent ‘RoboCop’ trailer reminded us just how much passions can strain in the dissection of beloved classics.
Syfy has been culling from the well of genre movies for its latest TV developments, most recently greenlighting the pilot for a '12 Monkeys' series, while today brings our first casting for 'Legion' sequel series 'Dominion.' Former 'Kings' star Christopher Egan will head up the cast, backed by 'LOST' baddie Alan Dale and '300' star Tom Wisdom, but how closely will the new story follow the 2010 film?
