Apart from the initial comparisons to fellow modern day Sherlock Holmes tale 'Sherlock,' CBS' Holmes-ian procedural 'Elementary' aroused one question from viewers: how long would it be before the dastardly Professor Moriarty would be introduced? Producers have kept mum on whether or not the famed literary antagonist would appear by the end of the season, but does a new villain to be introduced in 'Elementary's post-Superbowl episode fit the bill? CBS Doubles Down on 'Vegas,' Deduces More 'Elementary'

In a month that's seen a number of surprising additional orders and even a few cancellations, CBS has decided its likes the odds on both 'Vegas' and 'Elementary.' Both the Dennis Quaid-fronted period drama and the Sherlock Holmes adaptation will see additional orders bringing them up to full seasons, but are the orders justified? And what does the eye have to say about renewing its freshman dramas, while cancelling others?

As candid as we've come to expect 'Sherlock' and eventual 'Star Trek 2' star Benedict Cumberbatch to be, it seems the popular UK thesp is retracing his steps in an effort to clear up his words.  Recently, a number of outlets picked up Cumberbatch's comments toward friend and fellow actor Jonny Lee Miller over his decision to move forward with CBS' own modern-day Sherlock Holmes adaptation 'Elementary,' but is it apology or accusation?

With all the controversy still surrounding CBS' forthcoming Sherlock Holmes adaptation 'Elementary' (as 'Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch still talks about it), it's easy to forget that the series itself will prove pretty interesting.  We saw the pilot episode at Comic-Con 2012 and have to say, 'Elementary' is definitely worthy of a little buzz.  But while we wait for announcements of Holmes' classic literary characters gracing the series, what 'Newsroom' star is coming to his aide?

While there's certainly no stopping the release of 'Elementary' at this point, set to premiere on CBS less than a month from now on September 27, people still haven't stopped talking about its apparent similarity to BBC's Benedict Cumberbatch adaptation 'Sherlock.' And by "people," of course, we mean Benedict Cumberbatch himself! The 'Star Trek 2' star had even more to say about the backlash between the two, and this time he isn't so nice...

Audiences everywhere are only a few months away from deducing the quality of CBS' new modern-day Sherlock Holmes adaptation 'Elementary,' and even the lucky few at Comic-Con 2012 this week will get an extra sneak peek at the Jonny Lee Miller / Lucy Liu-starring series.  But in case you won't be around to make the panel, how would you like a first-look at the original dynamic duo in action?

Color us more curious than cautious with regard to CBS' upcoming original adaptation of the classic Sherlock Holmes mythos, 'Elementary.'  Sure, there's the talk of its aping Steven Moffat's similarly modern-day 'Sherlock,' but for the most part 'Elementary' seems unique enough to warrant investigation.  And what better what to distinguish itself by introducing its leads, Sherlock Holmes and John Joan Watson?

With 'Elementary' having been picked up to series over at the CBS's upfront presentation a few weeks ago, there's certainly no stopping the network from producing its modern-day Sherlock Holmes.  But, just because the Jonny Lee Miller / Lucy Liu series is still moving forward, that doesn't mean the other modern-day Holmes adaptation 'Sherlock's creator doesn't still have something to say about it.
