We've got even more good news from CinemaCon -- 'Fast and Furious 7' will race to theaters on July 11, 2014, which isn't too far away.

'Fast and Furious 6' hasn't even hit theaters yet and fans are already revving up for 'Fast and Furious 7.' But can you imagine such a thing without one of the primary characters? Say, The Rock?

Recently there was a list of three directors bandied about to take over the 'Fast and Furious' franchise from director Justin Lin, who saw the series through its last four sequels. But it appears Universal chose none of the above to direct the follow up, as James Wan has been tapped to helm 'Fast and Furious 7.'

A few days ago, we learned that director Justin Lin was bowing out of the 'Fast and Furious' franchise after directing four films in the series. While fans of the amazingly ridiculous action series wiped away their tears, Universal has been hard at work tracking down a new director for 'Fast and Furious 7,' which needs to get shooting as soon as possible if it wants to meet its Summer 2014 release

'Fast and Furious 7' has been fast-tracked for a summer 2014 release, which is great news for us movie fans. This was not such great news for director Justin Lin, who is still working hard to finish up 'Fast and Furious 6,' which opens next month. Because of that scheduling conflict, Lin - who has now directed four of the 'Fast and Furious' movies - will not return to direct 'Fast and Furious 7'..
