How cute, you presumed The Walking Dead would let weeks of the year go by without premiering new episodes on one of its branches. So it is, that one week out from the main series’ return, Fear The Walking Dead has begun the slow shamble to Season 3 with a new series of webisodes to potentially impact the franchise.
Fear the Walking Dead
Walking Dead companion series Fear The Walking Dead wrapped up its second season with a few hints of the world leaning farther into the zombie apocalypse, but fans will always wonder if the two series would ever cross over. Robert Kirkman even offered a tantalizing hint at New York Comic-Con, suggesting a Fear-ful origin for one of the comics’ current villains.
It wasn’t long after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 began casting a young mechanic and his disabled brother that fans put together Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider joining the series. Now, just weeks before Season 4 debuts, our first synopsis for September premiere “The Ghost” reveals a Fear The Walking Dead star in a major Ghost-adjacent role.
Fear The Walking Dead is looking more like its parent series than ever, and the second half will even introduce a host of new communities to boot. See for yourself, as Fear The Walking Dead checks into hotel hell in a new featurette for the August 21 premiere.
The Walking Dead fans are eagerly awaiting Season 7's full trailer, but lest we forget, the second half of Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 will arrive even earlier, on August 21. The companion series is starting too look a great deal like its companion, however, as Nick strikes out on his own, and the others take refuge in a spooky-looking hotel.
Time will tell if Fear The Walking Dead can ever generate as much excitement as its parent series (at least not for upcoming premieres), but the AMC horror drama will at least bring some color to Comic-Con 2016. Check out the festive key art for its Season 2 return, as well the latest photos of the August premiere.
Perhaps no TV panel at Comic-Con is ever so anticipated as The Walking Dead, but doubly so for 2016, to gain any insight into Negan’s victim by a first trailer. We’ll find out, as AMC has officially booked The Walking Dead, its Fear-ful companion and Preacher for the big show in San Diego this year.
AMC companion series Fear The Walking Dead has struggled to turn the same heads as its mothership, even as Season 2 now unfurls with the same midseason cliffhanger that The Walking Dead has trafficked in for years. To wit, showrunner Dave Erickson acknowledges fan disappointment with the spinoff, as well where it stands with the main series’ significantly-advanced timeline.
Oh, did you think the spinoff AMC birthed to extend the (un) life of The Walking Dead would call it quits after Season 2? You poor dears, of course Fear The Walking Dead will return for Season 3 in 2017. Our vote: zombies on the moon!
