FX and Donald Glover’s Atlanta rightly cleaned up at the Golden Globes this past Sunday, but there’s good news and bad going forward. As expected, Season 2 has been pushed out of 2017 due to Glover’s Star Wars commitments, though FX and Glover have struck a deal for even more shows.

And lo, FX has descended from upon the mountain to lay out our TV future for the next few months. Schedule-wise, at least, we know know when The Americans and their quaint Russian spy antics will return for Season 5, as well when Archer will enter “Dreamland” in the spring.
We’ve barely begun the rigmarole of American Horror Story teasing its seventh season, but it’ll be time yet before Ryan Murphy beings his flagship anthology franchise to a close. FX has officially picked up an additional two seasons of American Horror Story, likely taking us through at least 2019. Just like our real-life American horror story!
You’d be forgiven not to have the clearest sense of what Noah Hawley’s X-Men derived Legion is actually about, given the surreal nature of all the footage released. By the same token, its mutant connection to the X-Men world has been kept somewhat vague, though Hawley himself now explains what powers and connections to the franchise we’ll see in Season 1.
Yesterday brought word that Archer would be moving to FXX for Season 8 (albeit without a formal premiere date beyond “spring”), and a first look at the new “Dreamland” setting more than ensures we’ll follow. Watch Sterling and co. give their best noir in new promos for the Season 8 premiere!
Archer Season 8 seemed pretty touch-and-go for a few minutes last year, between that cliffhanger ending and a delayed renewal, and now another notable change seems to be afoot. Archer will follow a number of FX comedies in making the move to FXX, getting closer to a spring 2017 premiere for Season 8.
FX and Tom Hardy’s Taboo will need all the trailers and footage it can get for audience to make any sense of its concept, though “sense” is nowhere to be found in the first official clip. Watch Hardy give some good crazy in an effort to reclaim a brothel, as we get closer to the Ridley Scott miniseries’ January 2017 premiere.
FX long-since eased the burden of Americans fans concerned with the show’s fate, giving us almost a full two seasons to wrap up the Jennings’ spy games. Now, sneak a peek at the fifth and penultimate year with some new wigs for Philip and Elizabeth, details on the “slow burn” season and and update on returning characters.
Slow and steady, Fargo Season 3 has been assembling a murderer’s row of talent for its cast. Now, as production gears up for a January 2017 start, FX confirms the full roster of names headed into the cold, including Coen brothers favorite Michael Stuhlbarg, Shea Whigham and more.
It’s difficult to say when FX might finally thaw out Fargo for some Season 3 footage, but the way this cast is going, they’d better break out the heaters. Latest to join the next chapter of Minnesota murder and mayhem is none other than Harry Potter favorite David Thewlis, albeit presumably not as a werewolf. If only!
