Ryan Gosling is taking lots of meetings this week, and in the war between Marvel and DC, a new battle has emerged: the battle over Ryan Gosling's soul. Gosling is being considered for not only the role of 'Doctor Strange,' but also for a part in DC's 'Suicide Squad' film, which, as it was announced earlier today, is being directed by David Ayer. And buried somewhere else in all this news: Gosling might also play Houdini.
For his next trick, Johnny Depp will play famed magician Harry Houdini. Continuing his tradition of wearing silly hats, the actor is in negotiations to star in 'The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero' (now that's a title), which is said to be in the vein of an 'Indiana Jones' story.
After earlier this week renewing its first original scripted series 'Vikings' for a second season, coupled with 'The Bible's' major success, History has conjured up its next big miniseries to market. The History Channel has officially announced development on 'Houdini' (tentative title), an account of the world-famous magician Harry Houdini with Adrien Brody in the leading role. Will it prove as big a success as 'The Bible' or 'Hatfields & McCoys'? Preview History's next magic trick inside!
Gary Ross just performed a typical Hollywood magic trick; he disappeared from 'The Hunger Games' and now appeared to direct the upcoming 'Houdini' movie. It's not too much of a surprise to see the director end up on this project, especially knowing which production company is behind it.
