Yesterday brought the most recognizable casting yet for FX's forthcoming Middle Eastern thriller pilot 'Tyrant' in 'Weeds' star Justin Kirk, and today another TV-friendly face has joined the buzzworthy new series. Former 'My Boys' and brief 'Mob Doctor' star Jordana Spiro has been announced to join the cast in a role opposite Kirk, but as whom?

For some time we've been hearing about 'Homeland' showrunner Howard Gordon's buzzworthy new FX drama pilot 'Tyrant,' initially set to be directed by Ang Lee until the 'Life of Pi' helmer bowed out for 'Harry Potter' vet David Yates, but now the Middle Eastern thriller has smoked out its most recognizable casting yet. 'Weeds' toker and 'Animal Practice' doc Justin Kirk has been added to the pilot in a major role, but as whom?

FX's buzzworthy Middle Eastern drama 'Tyrant' made a few waves recently when acclaimed 'Life of Pi' director Ang Lee dropped out of helming the pilot, only to be replaced with David Yates of the 'Harry Potter' franchise, but now some casting news has finally emerged from the series. The pair have teamed with FX and a former 'LOST' writer to develop 'Tyrant,' a new Middle Eastern intrigue drama that has all the executives excited. Somebody get Will Smith on the line, because this one sounds a little familiar.  'Homeland's executive producer Howard Gordon and 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' writer Josh Friedman are combining their love of drama and robots for NBC, developing a high-concept mystery series set in humanity's future.  NBC has certainly attempted its share of complex, layered sci-fi in recent years, but will a robot uprising be the next big buzz?
