Nobody really knows what’s going on with Disney and Lucasfilm’s reported reboot of the Indiana Jones franchise. They say they want to do it, we know they want to do it because they paid $3 billion for this stuff, but Steven Spielberg says there’s no way he’d recast Harrison Ford. So while they figure all that out, there’s this easter egg in Star Wars: The Force Awakens to keep all the Indiana Jones fans satisfied. You probably didn’t catch it the first time around, but we’re here to help you out.

Steven Spielberg has expressed an interest in making another Indiana Jones movie. Harrison Ford is totally down to reprise his classic character. Okay, so, what’s the hold up? It’s this little thing called Star Wars — maybe you’ve heard of it? Lucasfilm and Disney are committed to not rebooting Indiana Jones or recasting Ford’s role, but they’re also a bit busy with a much more massive franchise that’s kind of eating up everyone’s attention at the moment. Over the last couple of years we’ve heard some rumors about a possible Indiana Jones reboot or “legacyquel” from Disney, which would either re-cast Harrison Ford’s iconic role or use him to pass the torch to a younger star — one who still has plenty of years ahead of them, just waiting to be sold off to a blockbuster franchise. Disney has already shot down these rumors, while director Steven Spielberg has finally chimed in to let fans know he has no intention of replacing Harrison Ford.

There’s been talk for years now of another Indiana Jones movie, with fans clamoring to see Harrison Ford pick up the whip for another adventure, especially since Indy’s last outing was so underwhelming. Producer Frank Marshall recently revealed that there is definitely talk of a new Indiana Jones movie, and although Chris Pratt has been the rumored favorite to take over the franchise, Disney and Lucasfilm have no plans of re-casting the role Ford has made so iconic. Good news for those guys, because Ford says he’d love to make another Indy movie.

Before Steven Spielberg and George Lucas figured out the plot for what would eventually be Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the prequel almost brought back Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood and her father Abner Ravenwood as major characters. Since Disney bought the rights to Lucasfilm back in October of 2012, fans have been speculating about what it means for the future of Indiana Jones. In addition to the Star Wars rights, Disney has the rights to future Indiana Jones movies and, considering they paid $3 billion, they’re going to exploit those rights. Everyone from Chris Pratt to Bradley Cooper has been rumored to be taking over for Harrison Ford, but producer Frank Marshall says not so fast. There will be more Indiana Jones movies, but they will never recast that famous role.

Ever since his breakout success in Guardians of the Galaxy, everybody wanted Chris Pratt for everything. The one-time Parks and Rec supporting player was suddenly being offered almost every leading man role in Hollywood. He signed on to star in Jurassic World, and in just a few short months he was rumored to be attached to both Indiana Jones and Ghostbusters reboots. Pratt has addressed those two rumors saying he knows nothing about either one.
