When it was announced that Jeremy Renner was going to guest host Saturday Night Live, there was only one guarantee: there was going to an 'Avengers' sketch. After all, why waste the presence of one of Marvel's mightiest heroes? And more importantly, why waste the opportunity to make fun of Hawkeye, the Avenger who's only power is being really good with a bow and arrow?

Jeremy Renner's acting abilities are to be commended. He was able to proceed from where Matt Damon left off in the 'Bourne' movies and give us another installment that was (semi-) worth our time. But where he failed in his portrayal of a genetically enhanced assassin was in his predictability. Case in point -- he always reverts to the same grumpy-looking facial expressions, hence he always looks like that famous "Grumpy Cat" from YouTube.

'The Bourne Legacy' Review

'The Bourne Legacy' is a movie suffering an existential crisis. It only exists because the 'Bourne' movies – the REAL 'Bourne' movies – made a lot of dough and were generally well received by critics. I'm no Hollywood insider but my understanding is that Matt Damon either respectfully declined to do a fourth installment at any cost, or the studio saw his asking price and figured it would make more sense to try a 'Bourne' movie without him. (Damon has a nice official story, saying he'd only reprise the role with Paul Greengrass at the helm.)
