Crimson Peak is an absolutely gorgeous movie. Sumptuous even, if you like big words. Do not be surprised if you see Guillermo del Toro’s gothic-romance-horror movie eventually nominated for some Costume and Production Design Oscars in a few months. But, as star Jessica Chastain told us, there’s actually more to Allerdale Hall, the haunted house at the center of the film, than you might even be aware. In fact, if you look closely, there are actually hidden, subliminal messages within the walls.

Alfred Hitchcock had a saying: “Logic is dull.” On the basis of Crimson Peak, it’s pretty clear Guillermo del Toro feels the same way.

Although Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2 might not be happening anymore, we still have Crimson Peak on the horizon. We have two new clips from the director’s gothic horror story, which looks incredibly gorgeous and terribly spooky — though you probably don’t need these clips to sell you on del Toro’s latest, do you?

The Martian is probably the most fun you will ever have watching a bunch of nerds solve math problems.

The more we see of Ridley Scott’s The Martian, the more promising the film looks. Before the official trailer hit, 20th Century Fox released a viral video from the archives of the fictional Ares 3 spacecraft. A second viral video from the archives has arrived online, just as humorous and insightful — if not more so — than the first.

As Tom Hiddleston explains in this new Crimson Peak featurette, Guillermo del Toro is the “primary interpreter of gothic romance in contemporary cinema.” That’s a rather elegant and succinct way of putting it — there’s no one more suited for telling this particular ghost story than del Toro, particularly given his eye for elaborate and eerie set design.

The latest batch of character posters from Crimson Peak echo the first motion poster for Guillermo del Toro’s gothic horror story, which featured Mia Wasikowska bathed in neon blue and red. That vivid coloring contrasted with empty blackness made quite the impression, and the latest characters posters are similarly striking.

After watching the first two trailers for Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak, it’s fair to say that we’re all pretty sufficiently pumped for the director’s gothic haunted house tale. The film looks absolutely gorgeous and properly eerie, but these new character posters take a different approach, seemingly taking inspiration from one of del Toro’s favorite horror productions: Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction.

We sure have been seeing a whole lot of images from The Martian lately — Ridley Scott’s new sci-fi film starring Matt Damon has been dropping images left and right, and we still haven’t even seen a trailer yet. The latest stills from the movie feature Matt Damon (of course) and Jeff Daniels, while a new video introduces us to the crew of the Ares 3, giving us our first look at footage from the film.
