Well never quite understand 'Mad Men' star Jon Hamm's propensity to debase himself in any comedy imaginable, but boy are we thankful for it. The fabled Don Draper will once again grace the halls of Adult Swim's absurdist medical drama 'Childrens Hospital,' but this time with a twist. What lured Hamm back to the series, and what's the shocking story behind his cunning mustache?
Like Steve Martin and Alex Baldwin before him, Jon Hamm doesn't need to be hosting 'Saturday Night Live' to pop up in an episode. Sometimes, it just seems like he was in the area, so he just stopped by to say hi and jumped into a sketch. Last night's episode opened with a return to the Lawrence Welk Show, where Hamm proved himself to be a very capable Italian song and dance man.
On 'Mad Men,' it's hard not to see Jon Hamm's Don Draper as the cool dad, the kind of father who knows when to reign in his young daughter's use of makeup but still throw her a bone and taker her out to a fancy dinner. Is it any surprise then, that Jon Hamm himself seems right at home giving advice to teen girls, even extolling the virtues of the ever-elusive female fart? This, you'll have to see for yourself.
Though Jon Hamm will probably always be 'Mad Men's' Don Draper to some audiences, he's shown a talent for comedy and is a great actor, period. He's just signed up for the Disney picture 'Million Dollar Arm' where he'll play sports agent J.B. Bernstein in the true story of man who went to India to find baseball pitchers.
