Kevin Smith’s TV renaissance (let’s not give it a cute name) has taken us from The Flash to Mallrats and back again, and it looks as if The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension TV series is taking off as well. Amazon is reportedly close to a series order, with Smith himself likely to announce at Comic-Con.

Kevin Smith has made more than a few headlines for himself directing just one episode of The Flash, even if his success won’t carry over to Arrow just yet. Now, we know exactly which Flash Season 3 hour will see the Mallrats director return, as well how Arrow might adapt his enigmatic “Onomatopoeia” villain, should he get the chance to realize it.

Directing The Flash has made Kevin Smith notably busier than usual, precipitating not only a Mallrats series, but a return to Central City in Season 3, while the comic director also noted his interest in writing for Arrow Season 5. Well, according to Stephen Amell, we at least know Smith won’t end up behind the camera for DC’s emerald archer, but that could very well change.

Kevin Smith seems to have embraced his new role as a TV director, already returning to The Flash with an eye toward Buckaroo Banzai and a Mallrats TV series, but the comic icon now wants to capitalize on his own Daredevil history. Could Smith end up directing an episode of Marvel’s Netflix Defenders, or Daredevil Season 3?

Just when you thought Kevin Smith’s burgeoning TV career with the likes of The Flash or Buckaroo Banzai would put a few long-dormant film projects to rest, Mallrats is ready to offer another chocolate-covered pretzel. The director reveals that in lieu of a proposed sequel, he and Universal are closing a deal to revive Mallrats as a new 10-episode TV series.

The Yoga Hosers director says MGM has approached him for an Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension TV series, one of his personal favorites.

The Flash fans will have a chance to see their hero through Kevin Smith’s eyes by ante-penultimate Season 2 outing “The Runaway Dinosaur,” as well an early installment of Season 3, but would the Yoga Hosers director ever take on Arrow? Not behind the camera, perhaps, though Smith now wants to write an episode or two of The Flash’s DC TV progenitor, adapting a famous villain from his own comic run.

We’ve not yet seen how Kevin Smith will fare in directing his first Flash episode “The Runaway Dinosaur,” but already Season 3 is banking on the Mallrats creator for a speedy return. Ahead of next week’s ante-penultimate Season 2 hour, The Flash confirms Smith will return to direct in Season 3.

We’ve known for months that sometime-revered, sometime-reviled filmmaker Kevin Smith would helm an outing of The Flash Season 2, and only weeks away from its end, we now know what to expect from the erstwhile Silent Bob. Not only will “The Runaway Dinosaur” bring us a still-shaken Flash, but an older, thought-dead foe from the series’ early days.

Flash fans have known for some time that Kevin Smith would direct an upcoming Season 2 episode, though response was somewhat less enthusiastic when Smith teased Jay and Silent Bob co-star Jason Mewes on set beside him. Now, Smith confirms that Mewes at least will appear in the May outing, though not quite hanging outside of Jitters.
