It was only last week that Legion built to David Haller finally vanquishing his yellow-eyed foe, only for Season 1’s finale post-credits to pivot toward a more opaque threat. See for yourself, as FX releases the full post-credits tease from Legion, as David prepares to meet his next enemy.

The first season of FX’s Legion has come to a close, bringing David’s battle against the Shadow King to a temporary halt. The X-Men legacy character has much bigger problems ahead, judging by the finale’s post-credits abduction and the Shadow King’s new host, so allow Noah Hawley to explain their significance in Season 2.

We’ve still one more episode to conclude Season 1 of Noah Hawley’s FX Legion, though the series took a major step toward comic continuity with the reveal of its Shadow-y big bad. Now, Hawley reveals the potential for Season 2 to skew even more X-mentioning, perhaps even introducing Charles Xavier himself.

We’ve two episodes left in the first (but not final) season of FX’s Legion, which for the most part has kept Noah Hawley’s promise of eschewing major X-Men names. FX / 20th Century Fox
Logan is understandably geared toward saying goodbye to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine moreso than Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier, but there’s a certain finality to this chapter of the X-Men universe regardless. Stewart in particular is open to the idea of returning for a Deadpool sequel, but perhaps more pressingly, now says he’d be willing to drop by FX’s Legion.

FX and Noah Hawley’s ‘Legion’ dives deep into this trippy, visually arresting and unique slant on the X-Men universe, but what might be the most gorgeous story put to TV can feel a bit lost in all the sensory overload. Our advance review, before the premiere mutates on February 8.

You’d be forgiven not to have the clearest sense of what Noah Hawley’s X-Men derived Legion is actually about, given the surreal nature of all the footage released. By the same token, its mutant connection to the X-Men world has been kept somewhat vague, though Hawley himself now explains what powers and connections to the franchise we’ll see in Season 1.
