It’s no surprise that Ryan Murphy loves to sprinkle horror movie references throughout ‘American Horror Story.’ Remember that time Kit Walker was tortured ‘A Clockwork Orange’-style? How about the use of Bernard Herrmann’s ‘Psycho’ score to amp up the creep factor in one of the scariest episodes of ‘Murder House?’ Or the time Twisty popped out of the hedges à la Michael Myers?

Ryan Murphy may be juggling a handful of projects at the moment, but his new anthology series ‘Feud’ is shaping up to have quite a fantastic cast.

The endless mystery approach to American Horror Story Season 6 has proven … trying, to say the least, but however it pays off, future seasons won’t use the same approach. So says creator Ryan Murphy, who also claims the story connections will “explode” in Seasons 7 and 8.

FX bosses have made clear that American Crime Story would plumb a broader criminal focus than The People v. O.J. Simpson, noting early on that Hurricane Katrina would form Season 2's main story. Now, we know the as-yet-untitled follow-up will take advantage of additional episodes, casting some of the nation’s most notable figures.

Just when you thought your frustration with American Horror Story’s coy promotion of Season 6 might be coming to a middle, FX throws a curveball. Only one of the teasers you’ve seen has anything to do with the actual theme and setting, which Season 6 plans to keep under wraps until the September premiere.

American Horror Story: Spider-Eyes. American Horror Story: Spider-Face. Whatever it is, the first Season 6 poster sure isn’t about to tell us, and maybe it’s time FX and Ryan Murphy drop this precious teasing, and just clue fans in on the next season already.

You may remember a couple years ago when HBO sneakily released new ‘Game of Thrones’ footage over text message, footage that once you watched it, would disappear forever. Now FX is following that same method for ‘American Horror Story,’ just with Snapchat.

The bigger mystery surrounding American Horror Story Season 6 seems to be mystery itself, as several cast members have joined the as-yet-untitled fall 2016 return. FX has yet to provide any real explanation for the delay (the series will skip Comic-Con as well), though we at least have a fresh Season 6 logo that knows we’re onto it.

We’re curiously late in the year to not know which direction American Horror Story will head in its sixth season, but production will nonethless kick off to make an October premiere. To wit, American Horror Story Season 6 may start filming in June, or at least July, with comedian Leslie Jordan returning from Coven.

We thought it crazy enough, the idea that Ryan Murphy would follow American Horror Story with another FX anthology like People v. O.J. Simpson, but can he pull off the hat trick? FX’s Feud aims to find out, pitting Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon against one another for a famous Hollywood rivalry with another all-star cast.
