No, Benedict Cumberbatch isn’t headed to Melrose Place, but he certainly isn’t headed to Baker Street, either. The Sherlock and Doctor Strange star has set his sights on yet another TV project, this time heading to Showtime to cover the five Patrick Melrose novels from author Edward St. Aubyn.

It was this very day, twenty-eight years gone, that Agent Dale Cooper first entered the town of Twin Peaks to investigate the murder of Laura Palmer. As such, Showtime would very much like to remind us of that fact in time for its May revival, spotlighting the pair in two new posters.

Twin Peaks has lost yet another of its returning Showtime cast, as star and co-creator Mark Frost’s father Warren is no longer with us. The Twin Peaks coroner and sometime Seinfeld star has passed away at age 91.

The way Twin Peaks promotion has gone so far, neither Showtime nor David Lynch are likely to give up too many details (or footage) before the May premiere. That said, a few new teasers of Showtime’s revival catch us up to speed on the major bookending events of the series, to say nothing of a controversial film and some fine coffee.

It’s been at least eight seconds since we’ve seen billionaires and the government at odds on TV, so let’s give Showtime a turn! Yes, ahead of next Sunday’s debut, the full Billions Season 2 premiere is online and free to stream without a Showtime account.

Twin Peaks creator David Lynch proved predictably David Lynch with his refusal to divulge details of Showtime’s 18-episode revival, though the eccentric creator at least offered that controversial prequel Fire Walk With Me would serve as important prelude. As such, Showtime will re-run the film in March, affording ample time for another catchup before our May return to the Black Lodge.

Even as Homeland largely sat out 2016, the series’ future is at least assured through Season 8; likely 2019 overall. There’s no telling what political landscape the series might have to reflect by then, but showrunner Alex Gansa thinks the next two seasons will likely prove the final, getting Carrie back to work as an Intelligence offer.

Why Showtime didn’t see fit to release a new teaser with word of Twin Peaks’ May premiere is anyone’s guess (that David Lynch always was a wily one), but nonetheless, we have a bigger question: How’s Annie? We may find out, as the newest Showtime Twin Peaks teaser finally reintroduces us to Agent Cooper!

If hours and hours of Twin Peaks or The Affair weren’t enough for you, Showtime has some major additional treats coming up. Not only do we have premiere dates for the Jim Carrey-produced standup comedy I’m Dying Up Here and John Ridley’s Idris Elba-starring miniseries Guerrilla, we’ve even got the first trailers.

Twin Peaks fans finally had their prayers answers with word that not one, but as many as four new episodes would premiere on May 21, to say nothing of the confirmed 18-episode order. Now, Showtime and David Lynch address if said 18 will prove the last of Twin Peaks, when we might expect a trailer, and what role the prequel Fire Walk With Me might play.
