‘Supernatural’ and ‘Smallville’ Almost Did a Crossover Episode, But How?

Supernatural has run long enough to share The CW with both Smallville and the current generation of Arrow, Flash, Supergirl and Legends, as well as their many crossovers. We’d never expect Sam and Dean to drive the Impala through Central City, but it seems the Winchesters very nearly took a trip to the Smallville set.

Would ‘Smallville’ Star Tom Welling Play Superman Again for ‘Supergirl’?

CBS / The CW
CBS’ Supergirl has understandably kept its distance from an actual Superman appearance, both for in-story purposes and the character’s cinematic exploits, but would a familiar face help? Smallville star Tom Welling never technically got a chance to don the famous cape, and answers if he’d be open to stepping in as Supergirl’s Man of Steel.

‘Supergirl’ Adds Another Past Kara in Laura Vandervoort, Plus Master Jailer

CBS / Warner Bros.
The Flash might have the most fun casting from prior incarnations, but CBS’ Supergirl is quickly catching up. Already flush with movie Supergirl Helen Slater as Kara’s adoptive mother, CBS has added Smallvile Kara Zor-El Laura Vandervoort in the role of DC’s Indigo, also casting DC villain Master Jailer.

'Beauty and the Beast' Picks Up Former 'Smallville' Showrunners

The CW
Boy, it's a small world, isn't it?  And my, what a beauty-full choice for a new show-running team!  Horrible, beast-ly puns aside, one of the entries for this fall's CW lineup has flown in a bit under the radar considering the popularity of its tail tale, and the star power behind it, but color us curious about the upcoming Kristin Kreuk-fronted remake of 'Beauty and the Beast.' The series already had a creative team in place, but what new duo has swooped in from up, up and away to join?

Warner Bros. / DC Comics
Brace yourselves, 'Smallville' fans, all eight of you.  The Dark Knight is about to rise in Metropolis.  But don't celebrate just yet, as you won't be seeing a teenaged Bruce Wayne suiting up in Vancouver.  Rather with 'Smallville' long off the air, this Batman will only make his debut in the comics.  So when should we install a bat-signal next to the Daily Planet globe?

The CW Taps Justin Hartley for New Series, But Not 'Green Arrow'

by Kevin Fitzpatrick March 5, 2012 @ 2:08 PM
The CW
The CW may have decided to move forward on a new superhero pilot 'Arrow' without the involvement of Justin Hartley, but that doesn't mean the former 'Smallville' star will be seeing green any time soon.
Best known for his seasons-long 'Smallville' portrayal of DC superhero Green Arrow and alter-ego Oliver Queen (and prior to that, a failed CW pilot for Aquaman!), Justin Hartley is returning to the network that made him famous with a new fall pilot for The CW entitled 'First Cut.'
