Starz's 'Power' Gets a Season 2
We haven't made very much of Starz's recently-premiered and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson-produced gangster drama 'Power,' but as we've come to expect from the cable network, Starz isn't waiting very long to double down. Following a modest premiere, Starz has officially greenlit 'Power' for a second season to air in 2015, and with an expanded order at that.

Well, Leonardo Da Vinci may have gone to America and back, but Florence is still in trouble with the church, and Lucrezia is currently stuck in Constantinople, so there's a lot of ground to cover in tonight's season finale of ‘Da Vinci’s Demons.‘ Hopefully it sets up a great third year.

Starz's 'Spartacus' Series Finds New Life on Syfy
It's been a difficult road for Starz to come up with anything as breakout as the 3.5-season 'Spartacus' saga, but while 'Outlander' will prove to be the next big concept series for the network, Syfy is giving 'Spartacus' another shot in the arena. All 39 episodes of the original run will soon air on the sci-fi network, albeit understandably toned down for content.

In recent years we've seen Starz struggle a bit beyond its usual two-season order, canceling 'Magic City' after its initial run while the likes of 'Black Sails' had difficulty breaking out with an audience. That said, 'Da Vinci's Demons' remains strong enough that Starz officially elected to press on with its season 3 in 2015, albeit with a reduced role for series creator David S. Goyer.

We haven't made very much of Starz's new offerings since 'Spartacus' went off the air, but the network's latest acquisitions are bound to turn a few heads. Already guaranteed for two seasons, Patrick Stewart and frequent collaborator Seth MacFarlane have teamed for a new journalism comedy series, 'Blunt Talk,' partnering with 'Bored to Death' creator Jonathan Ames for a 2015 premiere.

Tonight's 'Da Vinci's Demons' has Riario and Da Vinci working together to stay alive in the new world. Somehow I doubt this partnership is going to bear any great fruit. But gamesmanship is the name of the, uh, game in this episode.

'Da Vinci's Demons' finally makes it ashore in tonight's episode, which finds Leonardo Da Vinci hot on the trail of Riario and his people (those who survived, that is), while Lorenzo is in jail and his wife Clarice is trying to hold Florence together, not to mention the pope! There's a lot going on tonight, and though some plots are set aside, it's another gripping episode.

'Da Vinci's Demons' is finally setting sail for the new world in tonight's episode and it will be interesting to see how the show balances its characters, with Da Vinci and Riario stuck on boats as Florence is under pressure from the fake pope, and there's now movement in the Vatican to possibly dethrone the imposter. And we're less than halfway through the season! It's a busy year.
