Having made less than $30 million stateside, that number is less than half of the film's production budget. So it's no surprise that production company Constantin Films is delaying the start of the sequel '.'

The new trailer for 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' is surely going to delight fans of Cassandra Clare's ongoing young adult book series, but what about the rest of us schmucks? From what we can tell, the new movie looks like a combination of 'Twilight,' 'Harry Potter' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' but without any of the aspects that made those franchises worth talking about (yes, even 'Twilight' had its moments). We clicked play on this trailer knowing nothing and when it ended, we were only baffled.

The new trailer for 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' looks like it has all of the ingredients to be the next big Young Adult movie franchise. A young girl with special powers? Check. Two love interests from completely different worlds? Check. A supernatural mystery that's in desperate need of solving? Check. The only question now is whether or not this thing will have the appeal of 'Twilight' or 'The Hunger Games.'

While other Young Adult book-adapted films have tried to establish themselves as the next big teen movie series, 'The Mortal Instruments' is already doing it...and the first film, 'City of Bones,' hasn't even hit theaters yet!

'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones' is the latest young adult fiction turned into a possible big screen franchise, and though the film isn't due out until late summer of 2013, there's now a trailer for the film. And, big surprise, it's going to be in front of a lot of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2' screenings.
