Tom Hanks is making the most of all the Sully buzz: earlier today, it was revealed that Hanks has written a script for a movie called Greyhound, and also hopes to star in the picture if he can get it picked up. Aaron Schneider (director of Get Low and director of photography for Titanic) has signed on to direct.

Even by the standards of a biopic about an incredibly famous man at the center of an incredibly famous real-life event there isn’t a ton of suspense in Sully. Everyone who was alive and conscious on January 15, 2009 remembers what happened that day, when Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River after the plane was struck by birds during takeoff.(I certainly do; I’d just arrived at my condo for the Sundance Film Festival and watched the rescue efforts unfold on live television.)

The latest trailer for Inferno is, unfortunately, not as intriguing as the last, but if you’re a big fan of exposition, then this one is for you. Tom Hanks and Ron Howard reunite for the third and final chapter in the Da Vinci Code trilogy, which sees our puzzle-solving protagonist Robert Langdon battling the apocalypse — at least it seems less painful than that one with the X-Men.

It may be Mother’s Day, but Sony doesn’t want your dad to feel left out. The studio has released a teaser for the first Inferno trailer, along with a couple of posters offering a sneak peek at the finale to The Da Vinci Code trilogy. And it looks like the series is prepared to go out with a bang, as Tom Hanks is literally holding the fate of the world in his hands.

Like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, A Hologram for the King also features a middle-aged white protagonist who travels to the other side of the world for their career, only to find themselves in the process. But the first trailer for the latter promises something a bit different: Overlooking the terrible ’90s voice over, the new film from Tom Hanks and Cloud Atlas co-director Tom Tykwer appears to offer a rather idiosyncratic take on middle-age self-discovery with quirky visuals and a little fourth-wall-breaking.
