It may be the day after Thanksgiving, but Michael Bay is still giving us something to be thankful for: new photos from 'Transformers 4.' The pics, which initially debuted in Empire, have finally made their way online in high-res versions, and include some polished, official 'Transformers 4' stills, as well as some fun behind the scenes shots -- we're especially fond of the way Bay chooses to interact with his stars.
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Transformers, roll out...your new look!
Because 'Transformers 4' is a reboot (-ish?), the characters are all gone (so long Shia!) and the robots have all been redesigned. We've already showed you what the new Optimus Prime will look like in his truck form and today we have the first look at what the new Optimus Prime will look like as a robot.
Last night, we had a chance to preview Hasbro's upcoming 2014 toy line including the reveals of action figures for 'Amazing Spider-Man 2,' 'Captain America 2' and 'Transformers 4.' Below, we've got a first look at some of these brand new toys including some pretty interesting new characters.
We haven't seen much from 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' -- we know that the Dinobots will somehow be involved, and that all of our favorite transforming robots will be back to kick ass alongside Mark Wahlberg and a new cast of characters. Speaking of which, Michael Bay has offered up our first look at the humans in the film with a brand new, official image.
Yesterday we confirmed that the Dinobots, those transformers that also turned into dinosaurs, would be in 'Transformers 4.' What we didn't know then is how big a role they'd play and with the film's new title, it seems they're going to be a big focal point. 'Transformers 4' is now officially titled 'Transformers: Age of Extinction.'
'Transformers 4' has been filming for a few months now, but other than the occasional set photo or video of something blowing up, things have been pretty quiet. Little questions like "What's the movie even about?" continue to go unanswered. And to be perfectly honest, those questions will continue to go unanswered for the time being ... but at least we now know that the film will somehow involve robots that can transform into dinosaurs.
'Transformers 4' has been busy filming in Detroit, setting up car chases, explosions and the like. Aside from the numerous photos of the newly designed autobots and decepticons -- the various leaked set videos -- director Michael Bay and team Paramount have yet to reveal any official looks at the new cast ... until now!
It seems the Michael Bay 'Transformers' movies go through two rounds of casting: One for the human performers and another for the cars that will appear in the film. Bumblebee, who's been a sidekick to Shia LaBeouf's character in the previous three films, will return for 'Transformers 4' with a brand new look.
As you may remember, 'Transformers 3' (dubbed 'Dark of the Moon') climaxed with a massive battle between warring robots that essentially leveled the city of Chicago. We expect nothing less from director Michael Bay, so we didn't bat an eye at that iconic skyline crumbling into a million pieces. However, Bay has shared a new image from the set of 'Transformers 4' that suggests that this massive action set piece has had a lasting impact on the world.
