Comic-Con 2014 brought thousands of hardcore fans to San Diego to partake in the largest celebration in geekdom, but you can pick out the higher echelon of fanboys and fangirls based on who decided to show up in cosplay. These truly dedicated (and occasionally slightly insane) fans create outfits that range from laughable to truly stunning -- they make walking the floor a continuously surprising and captivating experience.

Comic-Con 2014 is just around the corner, and while we can't wait to get the lowdown on the most-anticipated movies and TV shows coming in the years ahead, we can't forget about all the exclusive toys and merchandise that'll be offered to attendees. From those super-sweet Funko Pop! figures to 'Alien' in a box, there's arguably too much coolness to handle. But don't worry! On Friday, the fourth movie in the live-action Transformers series of films opens in theaters. This one is called ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction,’ and, like its predecessors, it’s poised to become one of the biggest films of the year, if not the biggest. What’s odd is that in the buildup for this movie, I haven’t heard Shia LaBeouf’s name once -- you know, the guy who was the star of the previous three ‘Transformers’ movies.

We're four movies into Michael Bay's 'Transformers' series and the redesigned robots are still a sore point for many fans. Hasbro knows this as well as anyone, and they're going to use that to make sure you drop some serious dough on new toys! The company revealed its new Comic-Con 2014 special edition toys, which should punch you right in the nostalgia box: it's the original Dinobots in their original animated series designs!

It seems the "super ticket" is the way of the future, and 'Transformers 4' is the latest blockbuster release to get in on the action, partnering with Regal Entertainment to give fans more bang for their bucks ... at an additional fee, of course.

Over the years, Angry Birds has gone from being a must-have game to a cultural institution, even generating its own upcoming feature film. In continuing this legacy, game developer Rovio announced the next big installment to tackle another big franchise -- Angry Birds Transformers.
