Despite a number of casting reports and photos making their way to the internet already, Amazon Studios caught us off guard yesterday making an official announcement of their 'Zombieland' pilot, one of thirteen to be streamed and vetted for full production in the near future. We're eager to get a first real look at Tallahassee, Wichita, Columbus and Little Rock back in action, but when will the pilot / series premiere? This morning we were understandably perplexed to hear Amazon Studios officially announcing the cast and production of its forthcoming 'Zombieland' TV series, given we'd already seen photos from production and read about the new cast some time earlier. Well, now that the dead cat's out of the bag, how would you like to see the first production photo of the 'Zombieland' TV series cast replacing Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin? While we'd known from various castings, announcements and set photos, it seems Amazon's upcoming 'Zombieland' TV series has finally been given an official pilot order. Amazon studios made the official announcement of the TV series picking up where Ruben Fleischer's 2009 film left off, adding 'Zombieland' to 12 other pilots to be viewed and potentially picked up for production by Amazon's Prime Instant Video, but what does the official annoucement reveal about 'Zombieland'?

It's been a good day for reviving franchise properties, what with the ongoing success of the 'Veronica Mars' movie Kickstarter campaign, but it's always a good day for 'Zombieland'! Fresh off the most recent castings of the Amazon Studios' TV pilot adapting the 2009 Jesse Eisenberg/Emma Stone film, new set photos of the 'Zombieland' TV series have made their way to the internet, so get a first look at the Twinkie-loving carnage inside!

We're still not sure what to make of Amazon's forthcoming 'Zombieland' TV pilot, which has the delicate task of replacing it's all-star 2009 lineup of Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin with a more budget-friendly group, but things are getting interesting now that the big man himself has been cast. 'Invasion Iowa' star Kirk Ward has been tasked with filling Woody Harrelson's snakeskin boots as iconic Twinkie-seeking zombie-slayer Tallahassee, but will he live up to the challenge?

From the moment we heard that a potential 'Zombieland' TV series had come back to life in development as an Amazon original, we knew that the series would most likely replace the 2009 film's A-list cast of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin. Late last week we saw some major forward motion as upcoming stars Tyler Ross and Izabela Vodovic landed the roles of Columbus and Little Rock, and now we've learned that 'Switched at Birth' star Maiara Walsh has won the leading lady role of the lovely Wichita. Only a few short weeks ago we were astonished to learn that the 'Zombieland' TV series had gotten off the ground after all, sending out a descriptive casting sheet to recast its now-unavailable leading stars for TV, as well as several new characters. Then came the news that the TV adaptation of the 2009 Ruben Fleischer horror-comedy would land on Amazon rather than CBS, and now we're hearing that the pilot has replaced Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin's Columbus and Little Rock, Casting Tyler Ross and Izabela Vodovic! A few days ago we heard the surprising, yet phenomenal report that CBS had decided to move forward with its 'Zombieland' TV series after all, after nearly two years spent in development. The series would pic up where Ruben Fleischer's 2009 film left off, albeit with new actors replacing the now-household names and a few new characters thrown into the mix.
