Yesterday, we brought you the first look at the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' from the upcoming Michael Bay-produced reboot. It was all, well, pretty encouraging! They looked, as we noted at the time, about as good as you could expect. Those images were since taken down at the request of Paramount, but today we have another new look at the Ninja Turtles and...it's a lot less encouraging. Actually, they're pretty creepy.

The first thing you'll notice in this full look at all four of the Ninja Turtles is that the Turtles now have lips. We're not sure what it is with Michael Bay and putting lips on everything (he infamously put lips on Optimus Prime, infuriating the 'Transformers' fanbase), but the human lips (and the human-style noses on Michelangelo and Raphael) look...weird, in an uncanny valley kinda way. (We're also not a fan of Donatello wearing glasses. Yes, we get it, he's the nerdy one, but he doesn't have to literally have to wear black-rimmed glasses with tape over the bridge.)

Judging by the setup here, it's likely this photo was taken at the London Toy Fair earlier this month, so these would appear to be updated designs and nothing that is outdated.

While yesterday filled us with hope, it looks like that may have been false hope. What we saw yesterday were models, but these look like finalized CG renderings of the characters. And, they don't look very good. They just look wrong. As we mentioned yesterday, it would behoove Paramount and Michael Bay to release an official image so we can see what's really going on.
