'The Big Bang Theory' Named Funniest TV Show of 2012 in ScreenCrush Awards

'The Big Bang Theory' keeps on rising in the ratings with nearly every new episode, and now as the CBS show continues on with its sixth season, its fans are growing in number as well. Even when going up against popular sitcoms and series like 'The Office,' '30 Rock' and 'Community,' as was the case in the voting-based 2012 ScreenCrush Awards, 'The Big Bang Theory' still comes out on top as the Funniest TV Show of 2012.

As ridiculous as Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Penny, Howard Wolowitz and Raj Koothrappali might seem, it's this great mix of nerdy characters that makes 'The Big Bang Theory' a favorite among the TV lovers. When asked to vote for the Funniest TV Show/Sitcom of 2012 in our ScreenCrush Awards voting polls, readers consistently kept the CBS series in the lead with a couple hundred votes ahead of its competition.

ABC's 'Modern Family,' which has won numerous awards for its hysterical cast, scored second place in the running, with 'How I Met Your Mother' and 'Family Guy' bringing up the rear with third and fourth place, respectively.
