'The Croods' is the upcoming DreamWorks Animation movie that answers the burning question: what would Nicolas Cage and Emma Stone look like as cavemen? Is that enough to get your interest? Watch the new 'Croods' trailer to find out.

'The Croods' is a movie that has been in the works for a long time. Announced in 2005, the film was originally designed as a claymation film from the directors of 'Wallace & Gromit.' But when the partnership between DreamWorks and Aardman ended, the rights to the film (then titled 'Crood Awakening') reverted back to DreamWorks who had no experience with claymation and opted to design the film as a computer animated film.

While the original script was co-written by comedy genius John Cleese, it's unclear if this film bears any resemblance bears any real resemblance to Cleese's draft (he's not currently listed as a screenwriter on this film). Now the film goes as follows:

The Croods is a 3D comedy adventure that follows the world’s first modern family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always been their home is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods are rocked by generational clashes and seismic shifts as they discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures — and their outlook is changed forever.

The film stars Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds and will be the first film released by DreamWorks after their latest film - 'Rise of the Guardians' - lost the studio over $50 million. Can this be the film that bounces them back? Watch the 'Croods' trailer below to see what you think.
