Quentin Tarantino and the cast of The Hateful Eight will be appearing at Comic-Con next week (I know, it’s so soon) to unveil new footage from the director’s upcoming western — hopefully the Weinstein Co. will find it in their hearts to release that footage online for those of us not attending, but until then, you are free to enjoy a new image from the film.

You can check out a full version of the image below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. Kurt Russell’s bounty hunter John Ruth and Samuel L. Jackson’s Major Marquis Warren appear in the chilly photo, all bundled up in a carriage. Tarantino spoke to EW about the film, revealing that it does indeed have a sense of humor:

I can definitely say that as bleak as our movie is, we are definitely the funniest snow Western ever made. This is funnier than The Great Silence, it’s funnier than Day of the Outlaw.

Speaking of references to other properties, Tarantino went on to discuss which western television shows influenced The Hateful Eight:

You wait the whole episode to find out, ‘Are they a good guy or are they a bad guy?’ So I thought, ‘What if I did a story that was made up of nothing but those characters?’ So there’s no good guys. There’s no Little Joe.
