It's not 'The Avengers' level of saturation, but for an arthouse film, it's fair to say that Paul Thomas Anderson's latest film 'The Master' has put out a lot of material. The film opens in limited markets on September 14, and everywhere September 21, and has a number of festival screenings between now and then. And now there's a TV spot.

Here's the film's synopsis:

A striking portrait of drifters and seekers in post World War II America, Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master unfolds the journey of a Naval veteran (Joaquin Phoenix) who arrives home from war unsettled and uncertain of his future — until he is tantalized by The Cause and its charismatic leader (Philip Seymour Hoffman).

For those who are interested in seeing the film in 70mm (as the film was shot), many theaters are starting to sell advanced tickets. For those in the Hollywood area, the Arclight will be showing the film in 70mm in the Dome, and tickets are now available. The new TV spot offers a little bit of new footage, along with 'Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons saying that his father (Hoffman) is making it up as he goes along. Our minds went to 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' as Plemons is often compared to Matt Damon, but here is playing Hoffman's child. Fan-fiction writers, you've now got a head start.
