‘Thor 2′ Gets Up Close With Comic Villain Algrim-Kurse in 15 Mins of B-Roll and New Photos
Most of what we've seen from 'Thor 2' centers around the returning Avenger (Chris Hemsworth) and his new nemesis, Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston), but what about this Dark Elf's right-hand man (or should we say, men?) we've been hearing about?
Got 15 minutes? Great, because we have that amount of b-roll footage from the 'Thor 2' set and a butt load of movie stills, including our first up-close look at Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in the dueled role of Algrim and Kurse.
Little is known about the extent of Adewale's involvement in the film, but the comics portray his character firstly as Algrim, Malekith's lieutenant, who is later destroyed and transformed into the even more fearsome Kurse. In addition, The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide revealed more than 30 images from 'Thor 2' with a couple more of Algrim before his monstrous turn.
Adewale is probably best known for his roles in 'LOST,' 'The Mummy Returns' and 'G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra.' He can be seen next in the indie film 'The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete' and 'Pompeii,' and he's currently in production on the 'Annie' remake.
In addition to this reveal, though, there's nearly 15 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage to drool over, including the making of the floating truck from the trailer, some explosive battles, Loki rotting in his cage, and even Chris O'Dowd's appearance as Jane's lunch date. Check out the footage and some of the images below.
‘Thor 2,’ dubbed ‘The Dark World,’ reunites Thor with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), his trickster brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and Asgardian defender Heimdall (Idris Elba) in a battle against an ancient threat. Malekith the Accursed, leader of the race of Dark Elves, has returned with an army to plunge the universe into darkness. ‘Thor 2′ hits theaters this November 8.
