To the delight of the Comic-Con 2014 attendees, Marvel spent a great deal of time toting around the 'Avengers 2' and 'Ant-Man' casts, but refrained from giving us many updates on their future film slate. They did officially announce 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' for 2017, but what about 'Thor 3'? We caught up with the Asgardian himself, Chris Hemsworth, on the Marvel press line following the panel to get an update.

As heard in our video above, Hemsworth didn't really know too much about 'Thor 3,' but had this to say of the upcoming sequel:

I hope we're doing another one. I think we're doing another one. I don't know anything official as of yet, but I'm looking forward to it.

We also caught up with Marvel Studios President and producer Kevin Feige on the press line, and he explained the reason why Marvel refrained from making other major announcements was because they like to have all the upcoming projects fully formed before revealing anything to the public.

Elsewhere, Hemsworth told a different group of press (via Collider), "I don't think it's just yet, 'Thor 3.' It's another -- a ways away."

Marvel currently has a whole slew of release dates set for unannounced Marvel movies -- two in 2016, three in 2017 (counting 'GOTG 2') and 2018, and one in 2019 -- and 'Thor 3' could arguably make sense in any of those later slots. Word on the street is that the end of 'Avengers 2' will lead directly into the events of 'Thor 3,' teasing a Loki-led war between Midgard and Asgard, and the beginning of Ragnorak.

Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost are currently working on the script for the third 'Thor,' but we'll be on the look out for more details in the coming months, especially as we near 'Avengers 2' on May 1, 2015. In the meantime, listen to more of what Hemsworth had to say about Thor and 'Avengers 2' below.
