Fear not, Will Forte!  Where once it seemed like all hope had been lost for Forte's post-'SNL' FOX series 'Rebounding,' it seems like the series might get another chance for a pickup.  FOX surprisingly passed on the series when it came time to announce its fall 2012 lineup, but which network might decided to pull the series out of the bin, and to pair it with what?

According to Deadline, USA might pick up the ball dropped by FOX in giving a second chance to Will Forte's single-camera comedy pilot 'Rebounding,' which follows a man recovering from the death of his fiancé with the help of his buddies on a pickup basketball team.  Rumor has it that FOX ultimately declined the well-favored series on account of its similarity to NBC's Matthew Perry vehicle 'Go On,' which was given an early pickup prior to FOX deciding their lineup.

If USA decides to give the series another shot, it seems a likely pairing for their prize acquisition of syndication rights to 'Modern Family,' which shares a similar tone and sensibility.  Not only that, but 'Rebounding' is executive produced by 'Modern Family' co-creator and executive producer Steve Levitan, as well as its pilot directed by Jason Winer, who also helmed the pilot for 'Modern Family.'

It remains a remote possibility for now, but crazier upsets have certainly taken place.  No matter what, USA is looking for an original comedy to pair with 'Modern Family' as a lead-in.

What say you?  Do you think Forte should be given another chance with 'Rebounding,' or was FOX right to pass?  Tell us what shows you're most excited to see in the comments!
