'X-Men: Days of Future Past' has been casting many of the old 'X-Men' trilogy stars to join with the new 'X-Men: First Class' stars for one mega X-Men crossover. Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellan and Hugh Jackman have all agreed to return but Halle Berry - one of the big stars of the original films - might be the one left out in the dark. So why would Berry not return as Storm?

Director Bryan Singer is out promoting 'Jack the Giant Slayer' and, as expected, he's getting many questions about 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.' Singer was asked directly by MTV if Berry, who along with Jackman was one of the stars of the original trilogy, would return as Storm and said:

I can't say. I don't know yet. And it's not necessarily a deal making aspect at all. I want to make sure it'll make sense.

With the script already written, we can't imagine this means that Singer is going to suddenly change the film to somehow include Storm. We think this more means that Berry and Storm won't be returning but he's trying to be diplomatic in the press.

And honestly, this is a good thing. Storm was never really crucial in the 'Days of Future Past' storyline (like Wolverine is) and doesn't have a 'First Class' counterpart (like Professor X and Magneto do). We're rather Singer focus on getting Kitty Pryde right than anything else.

So what do you think? Are you disappointed that Halle Berry might not be back? If you had to recast Storm with a younger actress, who would you choose?
