Xbox Live Gold to Get Upgrades and Free Games

Xbox Live Gold members will get a bit of an upgrade in the coming months in preparation for the Xbox One.

Gold members will not only be able to transfer their accounts to Xbox One, but now they'll be getting free games monthly on the Xbox 360, too. Starting July 1, Gold members in good standing will receive two games a month, for free.

Kicking off the free game extravaganza are Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3. This makes them a bit more competitive when it comes to membership offerings, since PlayStation Plus membership offers similar perks and nets fans free games.

There are some other upgrades coming, too, according to Microsoft, but at the time, details weren't divulged on how else Xbox Live memberships will change. Let us know what you think of this and if you'll be collecting your free games!
