If you’ve been following anything about the fall 2015 broadcast season, networks have notably avoided outright cancellations, instead trimming episode orders, even for obvious goners. Now, it seems ABC’s Wicked City is first out of the gate to get the axe, leading many to wonder, just what the hell was Wicked City?

Airing only three episodes, ABC has officially opted to pull Wicked City from the Tuesday lineup, instead slotting in episodes of Shark Tank. The series will at least shoot through its eighth episode, before closing on production.

For those unfamiliar with the series (read: anyone with a working television set), ABC’s Wicked City followed L.A. detectives investigating a pair of romantically-entangled serial killers on the 1982 Sunset Strip of Los Angeles. Cast members included Jeremy Sisto, Gabriel Luna, Ed Westwick, Erika Christensen, and American Horror Story favorite Taissa Farmiga.

At a paltry 1.7 million viewers this past week (that’s lower than CW numbers), it isn’t any surprise to see ABC pulling the plug on Wicked City, but will more networks follow suit, now that the dam has burst? Was anything about Wicked City worth saving? Watch the trailer below.
