Although the people at Fox have already stated that they love Jennifer Lopez and "don't want her to leave" the 'American Idol' judges table, her return next season is definitely up in the air with some saying she won't be returning at all.

Now with more news surfacing that the TV network is reportedly browsing around for new additions to the show, it seems more and more likely that she'll need to be replaced and Fox is apparently looking no further than former 'Idol' contestant Adam Lambert.

"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," a source revealed to E! Online. "He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show."

Apparently all that needs to happen for this to become a reality is for Fox to make an actual offer. "I mean if, and I say if with a capital I.F, if they were to approach me and if they were to say you know 'we want you to be a judge on the show' – I would love that!," Lambert revealed to Capitalfm.com.

While it's looking that J. Lo's busy schedule will be keeping her from returning as the 'Idol' judge we've all come to know and love, is it actually her spot that Fox is looking to fill with Lambert? Rumors are floating around that Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler's spots are also "up in the air," though nothing is confirmed.

All three of the judges have been criticized in the past for not being harsh enough in their feedback to the contestants, but do you think Lambert will be? Join the discussion in the comments.
